In her video, she emphasizes the importance of distinguishing the difference between ASL as the communication mode and English as the written form for the deaf students. Often times, the deaf students copied ASL into their writing. Unfortunately, the deaf teacher training programs do not have this kind of information to deliver to the students, who study to become teachers for the deaf. When they graduate, they should be responsible as teachers to emphasize the difference of ASL and English to the deaf students.
